Spent Xmas holiday at a lakefront hostel, which had a great location with stunning views and was conveniently close to shops. the hostel was clean and had friendly staff. there were large common areas and a spacious kitchen, which were perfect for mingling with other guests and meal prep.
Stayed in a shared room, and unfortunately, there were no lockers available to secure our belongings, which posed a security concern. the bathroom facilities were inconveniently located with other guests struggling to lock the door properly.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The communal kitchen and dining area were well equipped and clean. The staff members at reception were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the town, supermarkets, and eateries. We also enjoyed the beautiful lake view from our balcony. a great experience!
Our stay was marred by ongoing renovations. There was a lot of noise during the day, with a man painting outside our room and sanding and filling cracks inside.

The room was okay for the price we paid. The staff was friendly and accommodating at check-in. The location was central and near to some of the town's main attractions. they had a nice communal lounge and kitchen area where we could relax and cook.
The room was not very clean, and the bathroom had a strange smell. We also had to share it with other guests, which was a bit uncomfortable.

Beautiful views, social atmosphere, and great amenities. The hotel is located in front of a lake and mountains, providing breathtaking views. We loved the social atmosphere, as we met diverse guests from all over the world. The shared kitchen and dining space were clean and well-equipped with anything we needed to cook our own meals. The staff was friendly and helpful, allowing us to drop off our luggage early and even giving us access to our room when we needed to rest before heading out.
Can't fault the property in any way.

This hotel offered an impressive sun terrace overlooking the stunning lake views. the garden area was too appealing, and there were barbecue facilities that we enjoyed. We felt luxurious with their exclusive amenities of private facilities included in our room advantages. the exceptional service at the hotel made us feel at home. the picnic area had tables which we enjoyed while doing some work on the laptop.
There was a minor issue with the Wi-Fi, but the staff quickly resolved it. the benefits outweighed the cons.

I had an exceptional stay at Lakefront Backpackers in Te Anau. The ensuite room I stayed in was amazing - the bed was incredibly comfortable and the view from the deck overlooking the lake was breathtaking. Despite being above the kitchen, the room was surprisingly quiet and I had no trouble sleeping. The location of the hostel was perfect, just a five-minute walk to the town center, water taxis, and the DOC center. I also appreciated the convenience of the nearby buses for transportation to the great walks or onward to Queenstown. Te Anau itself was a hidden gem, offering better views and a less touristy atmosphere than Queenstown. The kitchen facility at the hostel was well-stocked and spacious, making cooking easy even during peak times. I highly recommend Lakefront Backpackers in Te Anau.
